Orchard Heights is an East Mississauga neighbourhood located south of The Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) on the west bank of the Etobicoke Creek and extends to Dixie on the west and the Toronto Golf Club to the south. It is part of the Lakeview Community which runs north from the lakeshore to The Queensway.
This is a small community of homes surrounded by green space nestled along the banks of the creek. There is no retail or commercial use within the area, meaning the only traffic is that of the area residents. The homes are predominantly detached bungalows on large mature lots. Affordably priced, the homes offer good value for both first time home buyers and those looking to downsize. Only a few homes come on the market each year, but it is worth waiting for a home in this area.
On the north side of The QEW is another excellent neighbourhood, Sherway, which is adjacent to the Applewood Acres neighbourhood. The Sherway area is also located along the west side of the Etobicoke Creek and offers a broader range of detached homes including more two storey and split level homes. From Sherway Drive it is possible to access a foot bridge across the Creek which leads to Sheway Gardens.

While The Toronto Golf Course forms the southern border of Orchard Heights, The Lakeview Golf Course is located right across the street on the west side of Dixie Rd., just south of the Dixie Value Mall. Nature lovers will enjoy a stroll through the Etobicoke Creek Park. A pedestrian footbridge across the Etobicoke Creek at Sherway Drive, affords local residents a excellent opportunity to explore the creek , with or without Fido, or actually crossover the Creek to access Sherway Gardens by foot.
The Ron Searle Park at the south end of the area was named after the City of Mississauga's first Mayor and offers a playground for the younger residents.
Easy access to the QEW and the GO station in Longbranch make Orchard Heights a favorite of commuters. It is also well situated in proximity to the waterfront, where proposals are in the process for redevelopment of the previously industrial lands along the lakeshore into community friendly parkland and development.
